My Life at the Moment

Life has been so great and relaxing lately, I just have to take a moment to ponder and be thankful for everything.

  1. We are loving the house, making more and more progress with it all the time {i.e. last night we worked on wiring the outside plugs in the dog kennel for their heated water dish, and we bought new washer and dryer *SO NICE*}
  2. Bailey and Liddy have been quite the nerds lately. They're so cute and sweet and Bailey is minding better everyday. They have started to get bored in our yard though. They get curious and wander, and I don't want them to get run over, so we're struggling with that part.
  3. I'm loving working mornings for Trish while she's out of town and that I've had this nice break over Thanksgiving. It's more compliant with my preferred sleep schedule, lol.

  4. On Thanksgiving when I was playing with Natty, I just took a minute to actually LOOK at her, and I can't believe how much she has grown. She can actually focus on your face and smile and she is even starting to babble now. It's so cute.

  5. I'm very grateful that all my family is back in town, happy and healthy. I sleep better knowing they are home. Now I just wish I could find my dad a better job so he didn't have to be out in the cold sometimes. I hate that :(

  6. Justin and I have been having so much fun doing our Christmas shopping. We're both almost finished already and it's been great.

  7. So looking forward to going to Salt Lake with JT for 4 days. We're going to do some shopping, go see the lights on temple square and hit a Jazz game. It will be great to spend some time together.

  8. I got all the Christmas decorations put up and the house cleaned really well and all the decorations put away in the basement. {Now I just need to clean and organize the basement, haha)

  9. I better knock on wood before I say this one, but tomorrow is December 1st and we still have been having great great weather! No snow, lots of sunshine. Not even fog. A little frost..but that's it. SO nice!

I'm sure there is plenty more, but those are the most prevalent on my mind for now. We are so blessed!

1. clean, lave, rinse, launder, mop, swab.

Lovin the new Washer and Dryer!
I've never been shopping on Black Friday before, not intentionally or unintentionally, just out of chance. This year Justin wanted to go shopping after I got off work and we finished doing chores, so around 6 we went to a couple different stores and were pretty impressed. There were hardly any people out and the prices were really great. The clencher was when we got to Lowes and found this new front load washer and dryer set on sale for $900. These machines are regularly $1400 a piece....it still just blows my mind.
All I have to say is....Kudos to afternoon Black Friday shopping!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Justin and I got to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year. This is the first time my parents have ever had just them and their kids for Thanksgiving. It was very relaxing and lots of fun! We all ate at 1, then I took a nap while Justin helped dad hook up the horses and the wagon. We all went for a nice ride in the wagon, while Justin rode beside on his horse, Honey. She decided to throw a fit when she realized how far she was from home. Justin handled everything great and didn't get hurt when the fit "exploded." Really Honey just crow hopped and tried to spin in a circle at the same time and tipped over. Justin just pulled his feet out of the sturrups and rolled away from her, so nobody got hurt. Then he got back on her and made her mind for the rest of the ride, so we all hope she learned something. When we got back we started the {never ending} game of Monoploy. Justin won...as always. He loves that game and has probably only played it 3 times in the last 2 1/2 years, so it was okay that it took nearly 4 hours. We all had a great time visiting and eating and eating. Although I was disappointed...when we got home I got curious and weighed my self... I weighed the same as I did last Friday at our "weekly weigh-in." Good but disappointing.
NOW...I'm so excited to get Christmas decorations up!!! Here it comes! We only have 28 more days!

St.George

Justin and I went to St.George this past weekend to visit Tyler, Amy, Josie and Dallin. The weather was warm, but just chilly enough to wear a jacket. Justin had a great time visiting with and helping Tyler, he looks up to him in so many different ways. Dallin is a little chunker, but is adorable. He looks just like Monty to me, with his chubby little cheeks and the little dimples he has under his eyes and his super light hair.

Justin, Amy and I spent Saturday cleaning and working in the new house, we got a lot done, then that afternoon, when Tyler got finished with his meetings we all worked on packing things and hauling them out to the trailer.

Sunday, Tyler got called out to a job to weld on an 80' cell tower. Justin went with him to help, and it wore him plum out. While they were gone Amy and I kept packing and hauling, we made quite the dent. Then it was time for Josie to go down for a nap and Amy and I lost all our drive, lol. We sat and talked through Josie and Dallin's nap until the guys got home.

Yesterday, Justin and I packed up and headed home. We had a slight detour through Alpine to pick up a special Christmas present from my mom to Hailey, then we went to South Jordan to pick up another special Christmas present from my mom. We didn't get out of Salt Lake until about six.

When we got to the top of the Strawberry Pinnacles, Justin and I were the first people to come upon a wreck. A man had rolled his Toyota 4Runner across the 4 lane highway and landed in the bar ditch facing the other way. The man was fine and had no passengers but I called 911 and waited until the police showed up. We are just blessed that we weren't there 30 seconds sooner or he would have taken us out with him! We didn't leave the top of the pinnacles until about 8:30, so we didn't get home til 11. It was a long day of driving, but we enjoyed spending the time together. We are excited for this week of family time, food and Thanksgiving. It's going to be great.

I'm so excited to go pick up our girls from Melanie's house too! She babysat Liddy and Bailey while we were gone, and we missed them so much!!

Here comes the winter wonderland.

So much has been happening in our lives lately. I just can't express how completely blessed we are! We are loving our new home! It couldn't be more perfect for us. I am thoroughly enjoying my part time job at the Marriott. I have only taken the job, for the sake of my Career Goal, which I am quite excited to have finally found. With as much as I enjoyed my job at the Best Western for two years, and with my education majoring in Business Administration, it finally clicked that my Career Goal should be framed around Hospitality Management.

With Tricia, my good friend, being the Front Desk Manager of the new Springhill Suites by Marriott (which is the top of the line hotel Chain currently), I was thrilled when she told me that the owners of this property are going to build another property here shortly! Perfect! So My brain went...fill in part time for Tricia (who is having staffing problems anyway) Get some extra christmas money, but most importantly, refresh my hospitality skills and learn FOSSE, the computer management system which is used by Marriott Hotels nation wide. So when the Town Place by Marriott Opens, I can apply for the Front Desk manager postion.

It may seem like a small goal to some, but I have not ever quite felt so at peace with a career decision. I can use my education and previous experience at a 7-3 job, with tons of perks!

Other than me blabbing about my job, we got a new Puppy!!! Her name is Bailey. She is adorable. We picked her up Saturday. She is a pure-bred Samoyed, like Liddy. She is four months old so she is in that awkward growing phase in her life, but we think she is adorable. She learned to sit in like 5 minutes. These dogs are amazingly intelligent! (and they love hot dogs).
Liddy didn't like her for about the extent of the ride home, after that they were best pals. They are constantly chewing on eachothers feet and face hair. Bailey loves to stand on Liddy's back or stand underneath her belly. It's the funniest thing! We love having two, although a handfull, they keep eachother entertained!

Yesterday my mom came and helped me plant the black parrot tulips I ordered in my front flower bed and I'm thrilled to see them come up. They are amazing flowers!

Tiffany, Jason, Hailey and Natalie all moved back to Vernal from St. George and I'm LOVING having my hailey back. She is just Cherry Pie! I love her to death! She is warming up to Justin and it's so cute. Finally she'll be silly with him and even let him hold her without her crying. They love to brush the dogs together and feed eachother Cafe Rio! It's so cute!

This weekend is going to be Justin's four day weekend off from work so we are going to go to St. George and visit his brother and sister in law and help them move! We are excited to get outta Dodge and visit with them! It's been a while and will be a very fun trip!

*Improvements made to the house thusfar*

So I just have to list the upgrades we've made to the house because it's astonishing to me what you can accomplish with the help of family. We got shelves put into the coat closet to make it into a pantry, we painted walls and put up Wanescotting. We've installed upgraded lights and curtains. My dad and Justin fenced off the west side of the house into a makeshift Kennel for the dogs that is so WONDERFUL! Melanie bought us a doggy door that Justin went and had installed that has been great too! We have completely wired the garage for outlets, inside and out (so liddy can have a heated water bowl). The guys insulated and sheeted the garage as well as built a loft in it for storage. My mom helped me weed the front flower bed and plant my tulips and some irises that pappy gave me. And today Justin and colt put in the Blow in Insulation into the cieling of our garage to help keep it, and the house warmer!

I'm probably missing some things, but I just wanted to say Thank You! Thank You to everyone for your help and support and time you've taken to help us! We love and appreciate you all so much! We couldn't be happier!

(Pictures of everything to come soon!)

Our beautiful snow dog

I woke up this morning to find about 2" of snow on the ground that wasn't there at 11:30 when I went to bed. We are babysitting Melanie's two new border collie puppies while she took Monty to the airport. I debated taking the dogs on their walk or not, since it was snowy and cold and I didn't know how Milly and Matty would behave, but I decided to enjoy it instead of fear it. I piled on the fleece sweats, and jackets, and in order to keep my feet and pant bottoms dry, I wore my cowboy boots with my pants tucked into them. I'm sure it was a sight to see, but the dogs had so much fun, it was worth it. Watching Liddy play so well with these two puppies makes me excited to get our new puppy tomorrow! She is going to love her new friend, I just know it :DI love this picture! This is totally her personality. TOTAL goofball!

The Heart Has Forever

I finally had time to finish reading last weeks book yesterday. It was called The Heart Has Forever by: Kerry Blair. It was such a good book! 100% Romance novel with a wonderful back story! It was entertaining, emotional and funny. Very easy to read, I have to recommend it to anyone who loves LDS Romance Novels. This is a good one!

Fall Weekends

This last weekend was a busy one! We have just been enjoying the new house so much! Monty has been up to the house helping us so much too, I just appreciate it so much!
He has gotten the garage wired and today they are going to insulate and sheet it, and build a loft. It will be great for storage!
I finally got our Office unpacked and the computer hooked up. I'm still sorting through the little junk, but the big stuff is taken care of. I have faith it will all be put together soon! I'm so excited.
Sunday was stake conference, and I didn't know about it until it was too late, so I ended up baking all afternoon. It was so fun. Justin got home in time to help me with most of it. I made my first pumpkin roll ever, and I do have to say, even for someone who doesn't like Pumpkin or Cinnamon very much...it was great! It even turned out relatively pretty.
Then I got brave and altered a recipe for a lemon pound cake into a french vanilla poppy seed cake with lemon flavored glaze. It was soooo good :D
We're having so much fun!
Yesterday I got to spend the morning training at the Marriott with Trish. I have to say, I love it! I thoroughly enjoyed my job at the Best Western for years, and was truly sad to have it end, but being back in the business has really made me do some serious goal setting. I'm so glad to have some career goals, and the funny part is that they don't require me to have any more schooling than I already do. I'm not sure if I want to go back now as much as I did before. I will still do some specialized training and continue studying the random things that interest me, but...wow. Yeah. I finally know what my career should be and I'm excited to work for it :D
We also, are so excited that this Saturday we are going to Park City to pick up the second addition to our family. We are buying another Samoyed. That will give Justin his own dog and Liddy a friend. It will be great.

The Holidays

With the Holidays approaching, I have many things to be excited for.

  4. Hot chocolate
  5. Our new Puppy coming to join our family
  6. A lot of great food (Mostly the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy)
  7. Lots of travel time with my wonderful hubby
  8. Great times to be spent with the family
  9. Hot chocolate
  10. Scarf-wearing season
  11. All the new Christmas smells I just ordered from Scentsy
  12. Holidays mean days off of work = more sleep
  13. Christmas Party's and Presents
  14. Justin's one year anniversary being employed with EOG (the best company ever)
  15. Boots! I love boots
  16. Hot baths after a freezing cold day
  17. Hay rides in dad's wagon and MORE Hot chocolate afterwards
  18. Liddy's fur getting even MORE fluffy! I love how fluffy she is.
  19. Justin and I to get our annual family pictures for Christmas cards
  20. The pretty sparkley snow
  21. Not having to drive back and forth from Jensen on slick roads! ( I love living in town)
  22. Beginning my training and "fill-in" days at the Marriott so I can learn their system and apply for Manager when the new one opens!
  23. I mostly just love the cheery spirit that everyone adopts. The Holidays change people; it reminds them to have the charity that seems to be forgotten at other times of the year. I am ready for that change to come about in the Basin!

There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!”

The colors are wonderful! I am so happy Autumn is here. With it's falling leaves and Holidays approaching. It reminds me and excites me that the time to see much of my family is almost here.
Justin and I had a wonderful weekend and Halloween. Tiffany, Jason, Hailey and Natalie came from St. George on Wednesday and stayed with us until yesterday. Grandma and Grandpa Wadsworth came down from Wyoming on Saturday also and stayes until Yesterday. We all had such a good time visiting! We played games, watched movies, had big dinners, carved pumpkins, went trick or treating, and even built our dog run! Here are a few pictures, enjoy!
Happy Halloween :D
When they first got here, she was so excited to finally be at "Chechee's house"
The playdough factory...

Just playin cards, rockin Hailey.

Hailey was so cute, she followed me everywhere the whole time they were here. It was fun.

Liddy's beautiful Kennel :D The fence turned out great! (Thanks Dad and Justin)

Hailey loves pasta salad so I made some for them and she literally, couldn't get enough.

Natty slept most of the weekend. Such a little sweetheart.
Hailey teaching her baby to say "Cheese" for the camera

Everyone visiting

Hailey didn't know what to think of the slimy guts in the pumpkin. After she touched them once she made her mom finish carving it, she didn't want to touch it.
Hailey was a Dinosaur. Her tail was so cute :D

Natty was the cutest Chicken ever :D
