bron⋅chi⋅tis: acute or chronic inflammation of the membrane lining of the bronchial tubes, caused by respiratory infection or exposure to bronchial irritants....
Not much is happenin around our house since Christmas. It has been the normal calm, clean and relax that follows the Holiday for me. Justin had to go to the ER the day after Christmas for a horrible cold, that I was worried was Pneumonia. They said that luckily we caught it early and it is currently only Acute Bronchitis, so we got him a perscription and he's re-couping at home currently. We are, however, excited for New Years. We don't normally celebrate it but this year Justin's cousins, Dan and Wendy are probably going to come visit us for the weekend. It'll be their first time in our new house and we're pretty excited. We are just hoping that Justin can get feeling better before they come.
Last night I spent some time cleaning up what was left of the Christmas clutter..empty boxes, wrapping paper, decorations and such. My family came up and visited with us, ate some dinner and played some games. It was nice to have them come to us. Justin didn't really want to be out in the cold that much to drive to Jensen, so they came up. We had a great time. I made brownies in the brownie pan Justin got for Christmas that has edges on all sides....a waste of brownies in my opinion... but they all loved them. It was great. We appreciate our families so much! |

Happy Christmas EveJustin and I have a very busy Christmas this year. Just like last year, it's a challenge to juggle doing our personal Christmas and Christmas with his family and my family. We had several different ideas of how to juggle time, but the winner was: To spend Christmas Eve with my family, have dinner and do presents with them, taking time for my dad to go to the Pratt Party and be Santa Clause. I thought it would be weird but he did such a great job! I loved it.
After dinner Dad got dressed up as Santa and we went over to the Pratt's house. After we were finished there we went back to my parents house and did presents with them. It was only about 7 o' clock and Justin and I were going to do presents for just the two of us as well so we invited my Parents and Eric up to watch us open our presents. It was great fun. Justin got a lot of truck parts, from my parents and I, he got nearly everything he needs to make his truck legal...and then some. My parents got me a strainer, so now I can make my own V8 and applesauce at home! And a SALAD SHOOTER...It is crazy to me how many people don't know what that is, but it is amazing! Everyone should have one. Justin got me exactly what I wanted. My new matching bedside tables. They are so big and perfect, I just love them, my dad and brother helped us put the first one together last night. It was very interesting {they come with SO MUCH hardware!} but they are great. He also got me the black high pile rug I wanted for our bedroom and some other sweaters, coats and shoes. He did great.
This morning he is working and will be home around 10, I get off at 11 and we will be headed out to Jensen to open presents with the Pratt's.
Merry Christmas Everyone! Be safe, and remember why we celebrate today.
The birth of our beloved Brother and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dudley Family Christmas Party
At the Dudley party, we had the always expected, ham, potatoes, jello salads and great treats for dessert. I helped Hailey make a gingerbread house, {very messy, but worth every bit}. She is such a doll. So darn cute. I just can't get enough of that girl. Afterwards, we played "THE GAME" which we play every year. Some years the stealing of presents gets rediculous and makes it boring and irritating for everyone who is not in the "stealing circle" so this year, I almost didn't even play. I didn't want to encourage the "un-christmas-like" feelings that it made me and a few other family members have, but after Justin told me that he did want to play, and that he would help me make sure we had a good time and kept a smile on, I decided it would be okay. It got kinda hard since it seemed like I was always the person getting stolen from, so I finally decided to set an example and not let the stealing continue by just opening another present instead of continuing the stealing. It felt pretty good...
Wow that was long. Anyway. It was great to see the whole family together, and it was a really good time!

Our little Getaway...
Justin and I went to Salt Lake this last Friday to do some Christmas shopping and just to get away. We left Friday morning and stayed that night. We got a lot of great shopping done, we hit at just the right time, it seemed like, everywhere we went, everything was on sale, which we hadn't even planned on, so that was really fun. We got a lot of great stuff. We so enjoyed having some time off together, just to enjoy each other's company and get our shopping finished up. We got to go and visit Justin's cousins that live in Taylorsville and went to dinner with them at Texas roadhouse. It was super fun, and really good food. I ate way too much :D After dinner we headed downtown to our hotel and headed up to temple square to see the lights.
Justin started to get really sick, so we were trying to hurry and find a place to park so he could get out of the truck...an hour later, we finally gave up and went back to the hotel. We circled Temple Square within a 6 block radius uncountable times. We got to see all the lights, but there were so many people around. I had never ever considered what an attraction the lights at temple square would be. I honestly thought it would be a nice quiet enjoyable night that we could just walk around and take in, get some hot chocolate and get out of there, but it was SO BUSY!!
Justin was getting so sick and I felt bad, and I didn't want to get out with all the people anyway. So we got to see the lights and all was well. Maybe we'll plan a little better next year, try it again, only use a shuttle next time, so parking won't matter.

Change: Something Made Different
Think excitement, talk excitement, act out excitement, and you are bound to become an excited person. Life will take on a new zest, deeper interest and greater meaning. You can think, talk and act yourself into dullness or into monotony or into unhappiness. By the same process you can build up inspiration, excitement and surging depth of joy.
I am so full of excitement and gratitude about what my life holds right now, it's amazing. I am so in love with having our own home, I love that our dogs are like our children and that we can treat them as such and they love it just as much as we do. I love being witness to them learning, growing and changing. I derive a sense of self worth from my ability to take care of others. I always have. I feel it has been passed down to me from my Grandma Wadsworth, who is the most caring, considerate person I know.
She does not care for people by means of wealth or gifts. She has a pure hearted concern for almost every person she knows. She is entirely the person I aspire to be. She is educated, a mother, a home maker and is loved by all who know her.
I have so enjoyed being able to turn our new house into a home. I love being able to spend my evenings with Justin and our girls. Our little family becomes more precious to me daily.
At this much anticipated time of the year, I am grateful to welcome the change in jobs that I am experiencing. Tomorrow is my last day at Pink. I thought I would maybe have a little nostalgia or sadness over leaving here, but I am surprising even myself by feeling nothing but excitement over the change that is to come.
I get to spend more time at the house, cooking, cleaning and laundering to my hearts content. I get to spend more time with my girls and especially Justin, which is my favorite part. I am also excited that this change occured so close to the holidays, which enables me to spend more time with my family.
I am so excited for the Wadsworth Christmas Party, which I have been, every year of my life, as far back as I can remember. It was the highlight of the Holidays, aside from Christmas morning. I resemble in appearance and character my Wadsworth relative, which I believe, is what makes me so earnest to spend time with them. As well as because they live so far away, and always have.
I also, am excited for Justin and my trip to Salt Lake this weekend. Although it's only for one night, it will be a first for me. I have never been to temple square to see the Christmas lights, and I've always wanted to. We are going to go Christmas shopping and Justin is going to take me to see the lights. He truly is the best!
I just had to voice my gratitude for all the wonderful blessings we are enjoying! It really is such a wonderful time!
