Valentines Day/ Presidents Day

We've just been taking it easy over the last little while. I haven't written much, but I might as well recap the little stuff.

For Valentines Day, Justin and I got Chinese Take Out and brought it home and worked on the Basement together for our "Valentines Date."
It might seem lame, but it's actually really rewarding to spend the evening working together on something we both care about. There are very few distractions and it was great to just hang out.
It was great!
We got our one year check up's at the eye doctor and yet again I'm trying another contact out. They're going to have my try daily disposables this time- We'll see if that will work. If not, I'm ordering a new pair of glasses and continue to deal with my uncooperative eyes.
Justin still sees better than perfect - He's too lucky!

I got to go to the matinee with Trish last Wednesday. We were the only 2 in the theatre. We watched "Just Go With It" It was so fun, plus that movie is stinking hilarious! We laughed the whole time!
We had our usual Wednesday night Volleyball games- I was fighting a migraine so Justin went and played while I laid at home and watched Roman Holiday {for the first time ever}. Justin came home right at the end and couldn't believe I was watching a black and white movie. It was pretty funny.

I really got to enjoy this weekend, I didn't have much I HAD to do. I had my first Accounting test (which Justin helped me study for on Thurs. and Fri.) and it wasn't bad. I get my scores back today around noon-hopefully- so we'll see how I did.
For now- I'm hanging in there with the class. I'm going to have to finish it, so I'm trying to make myself like it. The material is not hard at all, and I've got an A so far, so I just need to stick with it.

After a day of Cleaning and filling Vinyl orders on Saturday, Justin took me to the late show and we went to "Just Go With It". It was the second time for me, of course, but it was so funny, I wanted Justin to see it, so we went. We got some Ice Cream at Farrs Fresh and wandered around Lowes for a little while before the movie. It was fun :D We're always project-ing so Lowes is pretty much our favorite place.

Sunday, after church, we got to go to Jensen and visit my family for a little while, then we went over to my Aunt and Uncle's house for my Cousin's birthday Party. It was good to see everyone and get to visit for a while! I got to hold Baby Dallin for a little while too- He's such a sweetheart.

For Presidents Day, I spent the day at home, cleaning and cooking snacks for us for the week. It was awesome to have a day to do all the little extra things I never have time for! Justin usually always ends up taking left overs or soup or something for his lunches, which he says is fine with him, but since I had the day off, I made a bunch of things for him to take in his lunches so he's not eating the same thing for lunch that he had for dinner last night :D
Plus, I love to cook, so It wasn't so bad.

After Justin got home, we went to Jensen and helped Melanie haul some wood and then she brought us some Pizza for dinner. Papa Murphy's! Yumm!
So I did homework, while Justin sat and braided some dog collars that people had ordered from him. They're turning out so good looking!
We're excited to figure out how to build the Harnesses and get them going too! His poor little fingers are going to be complete calluses.

Then he was up all night coughing and fighting some terrible congestion. He has this wheezy asthma cough that never sounds good, but I'm used to it by now. But Last night he had me worried so we're going to the doctor today to get him all fixed up. I hate it when he doesn't feel good! So Hopefully they can get him back on his feet!

Torn....

So...Ever since I decided to go back to school I have been struggling. I struggled deciding whether or not go to back. I struggled to get tuition figured out. I struggled to figure out which classes to take. I struggled finding the motivation to do the work. I have now made it into my second semester back and I am still struggling.

I guess I've questioned if my struggles have just been because:
  1. I've had 3 years off
  2. The other side is trying to keep me from doing something good
  3. or Heavenly Father is just trying to tell me "Chelsie- You don't need to do this {At least not right now}"- Maybe?
  4. I already have my associates and maybe that is enough for me?
  5. I already have a job that I love and don't see the HUGE benefit all this work could be worth
  6. Maybe it's time for me to concentrate on getting ready for a family and not so much on the educational part right now
  7. That at the rate I"m taking classes (between 3 and1 per semester) It will take me about 6 YEARS to finish my bachelors???
  8. And so on....
Trust me, there are plenty more.

So my struggle of the day is: I am only into Chapter 5 of the Accounting Class that I'm taking and while it's all very interesting material- easy to absorb- I just don't care. I HATE doing the homework. I HATE studying. I HATE locking myself away in the office to do homework and leaving Justin alone. I HATE that we have a basement that needs work and I'm spending my time with my nose in a book instead of down there working on it.
So the problem is....I hate this. I can not even imagine having to continue this through May. My Problem is...I am past the "drop" deadline. As in...all that $800 of tuition that this class is costing me, will be wasted.
Gone Forever.
But I want more than anything to be able to drop this class and be done.

Maybe I needed to go back for these few semesters to learn that I wouldn't regret not going back...

Maybe what I'm looking for is Validation.
I need someone to tell me "It's Okay- drop the class and move on" or "Chelsie- You're being lazy, just DO IT."

Will someone please tell me what to do :D
Please?

Popcorn Balls

I've never been a huge fan of popcorn balls, but this stuff is G-O-O-D!
 (Bad picture/Good Popcorn)

Recipe:

Candied Popcorn Balls

20 C. Popcorn (About 2 1/2 bags)
1 1/2 C. Light colored Karo Syrup
1 1/2 C. Sugar
7 oz. Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme
2 Tbs. Softened Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
M&M's/ Peanuts if desired

Directions:
Pop your popcorn and remove unpopped kernels. Place in big bowl. Set aside.
Melt together Karo Syrup and Sugar until Boiling. Remove from heat and stir in Marshmallow Creme, Butter and Vanilla until melted.
Pour over Popcorn and stir well.
(I use a wooden spoon so it doesn't stick as badly as a metal spoon)
Let rest until well cooled. Mix in Peanuts/M&M's if desired.
Once cool enough to handle, form into soft balls (Don't pack them tight or they get hard)...

Or you can leave it in the bowl and just eat it by the handful like me :D

Thursda-da-day

So...I just recently converted to the new Blogger Posting....thing....I don't know what to call it- but it's awesome. It's so much easier with pictures! Holy Moly. I love it!

Well...I'm just givin an update on life.

We've just been working and playing. We had volleyball last night and we upheld our record of 1 loss/ 1 win per night. So I guess that was cool. At least we're consistent, lol.

Melanie and Monty stopped by the Rec. Center and watched us play on their way home from Park City- which was nice of them.!

I'm getting excited- We've been selling the stuff that we posted on KSL pretty well, so that's cool. There for a while it seemed like nobody was buying anything (can you tell I put stuff on there often)? hehe

But now..wa-bam! Within 2 days, My garage is feeling much bigger :D lol
Loving it!

Anyway...I'm also excited because for the first time, I linked up a project that we did to the DIY Monthly contest. They give away a random assortment of building supplies/home decor for the winner, and although I don't know if I have a change (hundreds of people post their projects to this thing) I'm just excited that I finally participated in it for once, instead of just following everyone else's cool projects!
Yay for figuring out the 'linking up' thing, lol.

So...I also found another contest on facebook.
It's part of the 'Just a Pinch Recipe Club' and it's a 'Rise and Shine" Breakfast contest. So I'm going to enter a very simple- but favorite- breakfast recipe and see if we can win a 2 person all expense paid round trip to Nashville.
Like I said...the odds of winning are slim- but- I'm just excited to be participating.

On a different note- tonight we're excited to have Monty coming over to help Justin do some more work in the basement. We're getting closer and closer to insulation and sheet rock every day! Little things just keep holding us up- but we're almost there so I'm super excited.

While they work on the basement, I get to chill out with Hailey and Natalie so Jason can take Tiffany to a Birthday Dinner. She turned 24 on Monday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIFF!

I'm excited to get to see the girls. They're so sweet and fun and full of energy. I miss them when they have to go home!

Part 2

So..yesterday we put a second coat of paint on all the Bead Board before bed.

Today we used my finish nailer ( the one I got for Christmas) And nailed it back up

Once the Bead board was in place- we re attached our corner molding and put our outlet cover back on.

So here it is:

Part 1...

I have talked Justin into letting me 'conduct' another crazy craft project. He has been kind enough to help too!

If any of you remember my cabinets-- when we painted them white at the beginning of this year- we also painted the surround on the Bar White.

{Please ignore the messy counters}
I decided I wanted to add some color & texture to the surround, so we decided to use painted bead board to add some ' visual interest'

We tested out a few paint colors we already have in the house and decided we liked the green best.

So.. Off we went to Lowes. We had them mix more of our Green Paint {Which matches our Green wall}- And we bought our Bead board.

I took the measurements with me to the store and had them cut the pieces for me. It's so much faster that way! Plus it's free. {Score}

So. Once we got the pieces home- I laid them all out in the basement and got to work painting.

Justin notched out the holes for the molding/ plug in's etc. for me.

This is the "current status" after the first coat of paint on all of our pieces.

Update to follow
:D

Spring Cleaning!

Alright. I'm spring cleaning -- a little early, I'll admit. But here's some URL'S to the KSL Ad's in case you want to check them out!

I didn't post all of them, but if you click on one of these URL's you can click "more by this seller" on the bottom part and it'll show you the rest of them.
Enjoy!

I need your opinion...

Okay Blogland Friends...I need some opinions.
As we've been cleaning out our basement I have been moving my wedding dress round and round in circles. I don't know what to do with it! I don't want to display it- corny- but I don't want to hide it! It's beautiful :D So what do I do?
I've thought about selling it- but is that crazy?
Would anyone ever even buy a used wedding dress? After all I only wore it once...
What do you think?
