Products I swear by...

All growing up, I was never really concerned much with using different products for my hair/skin etc. As long as I had shampoo, conditioner, soap and tooth paste I was happy. Well, I started having dry skin problems during the winter months last year and it was terrible. This year, I decided I was going to search and search and find the greatest stuff so I didn't have to deal with dry skin/cracking lips/ unhealthy hair etc.
So if any of you have the same problem- here are my favorites:

Shampoo and Conditioner: Bumble and Bumble Gentle Shampoo and Super Rich Conditioner
Face: Burts Bees Carrot Seed Oil Complexion Spray and Rosewater and Glycerin Toner.
Problem Blemishes: Eucalyptus Oil. (Dab on problem spots to dry up so they can heal)
Dry tangled hair: Bumble and Bumble "Prep". Spray on straight out of the shower for an easy comb through.
Bug Bites/ Razor Burn: Burts Bees 'Res-Q Ointment'. Hate the smell, love the results.
Lips: Cherry Chapstick or Burts Bees Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter
Cracking Hands and Feet: Arbonne Aromassentials Awaken Sea Salt Scrub.
Cuticles: Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Great to sit and rub in during church!
Skin: Johnsons Baby Lotion, Honey Apple. Works best straight out of the shower.
Extra Dry Hair: Arbonne SeaSource Detox Spa Fortifying Hair Mask. Use every once in a while and your hair will be SOOO soft! Love it

Enjoy.

Love me some date nights...

I was just about to start cooking dinner. Today is the perfect dreary day for some Home made Broccoli/Caulifour Cheese Soup. Then my sweetheart calls on his way home from Jensen. He said, "I really want to go see Contraband, so lets just go out tonight okay?"

Love him.
{And the Buttered Popcorn from the Theatre}

Looks like I'll have to make soup tomorrow.

January is almost over...

This is a girl after my own heart. Whose ever heard of Salmonella? Ppppffft. You haven't lived until you've licked a brownie batter bowl clean.

Tonight, Justin and I loaded up and went to Jensen to my parents house for dinner. We made Chicken Ala King and I made some yummy Turtle Brownies. {Yummy being the key word}

We visited for a while, and played Candy Land and Hide and Seek with the little girls. I love going home to Jensen. I do hope that we can move back down there someday soon. I miss the people and the farms and the drive. It might sound crazy, and although it is annoying at times, I used to use that time to talk to friends and family on the phone, make appointments, relax from work- etc. I never EVER anticipated how much I would miss that drive...and my family...and my ward.

Don't get me wrong- I love my new ward, especially now that I'm in Relief Society and have kindof been forced to socialize with people, but I miss my ward in Jensen SO BADLY. I knew everyone's names, I sat in the same spot with my family every week, Sacrament meeting was always so reverent.

Long story short- Going to Jensen makes me want to move back, for a lot of crazy good reasons.

We got to visit tonight and just relax in our pajamas, eat some dinner and play with the girls. It is so nice to see Hailey finally coming around to Justin. She was born when we were still dating, and Justin was working nights on the rigs, so he would come to my house and they would nap together during the days. As she grew, she got so incredibly timid. She did not like men in general. She wanted her mom, me, Grandma, daddy or poppa, if he was going to feed the horses. These last few weeks have been the TOTAL opposite. She wants Justin all.the.time. She doesn't leave his side/lap/hanging on his neck whenever we're around, and it's so great to see! They have so much fun being silly together.

I am hoping that I can do better this Saturday than I did last Saturday.
I have a long list of things to accomplish, so I'm hoping to get an early start, and knock em out.
Taxes are my biggest priority tomorrow.
I hate small business taxes.
hate

I also get to go the usual rounds- cleaning house, doing laundry, doing dishes, etc.
I also have homework to do. Relief Society tasks to accomplish. Vinyl to cut. Crafts to finish for a few people.

I guess if I wasn't so busy, I wouldn't have anything to write lists about...and you all know how much I love lists :-)

Happy Friday Night!

We are so loved...

Yesterday afternoon, Justin and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend an endowment session with my Uncle Troy, as he went through for the first time. It is incredible the spirit that we feel in the temple and the reminders and guides they give us for better living. I have always felt that the temple is a place of learning, and it was incredible to witness another of my family members experience this learning and joy for the first time.
We had the majority of our family members on my mom's side there with us, and the spirit is always increased, for me, when we are able to go with family. It made me think of how fortunate I have been to have been raised in a family, even extended family, that believes in and lives worthily to attend the temple. That, and the opportunity I have also had to go through with my two best friends within the last 2 years, has just been in incredible.  It is of great encouragement to me to know that almost no matter where I turn, to family or friends, they will always be able to help guide me back to the temple.

Love them!

After the session, we all met at 7 - 11 Ranch Restaurant for dinner. We visited and laughed and had a great time!

After having that great night, I got to go to Ali's Baby Blessing today. It is so truly heart warming to listen to these fathers blessing their children and introducing them into the gospel in their first stages in life. I know, even though they can't communicate it yet, that these babies know how very loved they are. I was at Trish's house at 8:30 helping get the Luncheon all set up and ready, so she could get herself and little Ali all dressed up.
I wish I would've taken a picture, she was just plain adorable.

My Mom and Dad met me at the church and sat with me. Afterwards, they went home and I went and made sure everything was ready for the luncheon then headed to my ward. (After locking my keys in my car and had to have Bart take me home to get the spares, lol)

I was especially glad to be in their sacrament meeting today though, one of the talks that was given was actually about regular temple attendance. The Speaker, Brother Batty said "There is not a single thing on this earth, that any of you could be facing in your lives right now- or ever, that can't be rectified by attending the temple regularly, and seeking the Lords counsel and guidance."
That really struck me, especially after having such a great night in the temple with my closest family around me.
We are so very loved...

Runnin....

I don't know what it is but for some reason, today I just want to bust out my tennisshoes and go spend a dusty dry day in the desert.
Grab the Dogs. Grab a Jacket. Stuff for a fire. Food. Water. Blanket- and I'm gone.

I wish it was warm outside, so I could run away and play.

Happy Friday.

Perspective...

fixate (ˈfɪkseɪt)
— vb
1. informal ( tr; usually passive ) to obsess or preoccupy

I have this awful tendency to fixate on things. It's usually a recipe, or a Craft Project, but from time to time it varies.
You name it: House project, A certain pair of shoes/boots, New clothes, Hair, a person, a sport, a book...The list goes on and on.

It's not always a bad thing, but I've learned that when I start to do it- everything else in my life tends to become fuzzy. I don't pay as much attention because I'm stuck on this one thing- whatever it may be at the moment. This is also the moment that I stop wanting to clean my house, or walk my dogs, or exercise, or cook dinners (unless that's what I'm obsessing over), spend time with friends or family, do homework, go to church/ fulfill my callings etc.
Everything else falls away but that one thing.

I'm trying to teach myself how to recognize when I'm doing it so I can knock it off.
I have to get out a healthy dose of Perspective to get everything back in order {in my head anyway}.

Usually, if it's a project- I have to finish it. If it's a "something i want"- Justin usually talks me into buying it. If it's a book- I have to read it. Recipe- Cook it. Person- Let it go {whatever it was}. Hair- Let it go Get it done.  You get the picture.

So...This is me...trying to gain some perspective.
I need to remember the things that really matter.
They make me happier in the end anyway.

Happy Thursday Everyone

Basement Progress...

I have been wanting this huge mirror forever now. I see it in Walmart almost every time I go, and always think "I should just buy it," But I never do.
For Christmas Melanie bought it for me and I was SO EXCITED!
Then...My sweet husband hung it up for me.
I love it.

He hates that I hung a wreath on it, lol.
Ppppffft.... Men...

A Rare Day...

It is only once in a very great while that my sweetheart gets a weekend off. {Okay, so every 3rd weekend-- but still}. It is also very rare, that on one of his weekends off that we don't already have lots of plans made-- either going out of town, or parties, or shopping, or lots of little something's going on that keep us busy.
This weekend was different than most for that reason. We had a regular old, nothing going on, Justin being home weekend. I'm not going to lie...it was a little weird, lol.

We have both been fighting the flu, so on Saturday morning, neither of us felt like eating much, so we skipped our traditional Saturday morning breakfast of crepes. That might have been what made it so weird-- who knows. Since we didn't feel like eating, and were both a little extra tired, we slept in. Big time. Like 9am sleep in. It was also weird. After we decided to finally get up and get ready for the day, I told Justin I'd been hungry for the Artichoke Dip at Red Canyon Lodge, so we should go up there for lunch. I had a few errands to run, and Justin wanted to take the dogs running, and to shoot his new gun, so we decided to go do what we needed and meet back at the house at 1 to go up the Mountain.

I decided that I was sick of our old Christmas Tree from Justin's college days, so we tried to take it to the D.I. Guess what? They don't take Christmas Trees-- go figure. So we threw it in the dumpster. Poor little guy... anyway...

After running our errands, we drove up the mountain. It was beautiful. It made me feel like it actually is winter. There was--- wait for it--- SNOW! I know right? It was the weirdest thing.

The Restaurant was nearly deserted....{Except for one really annoying couple, that was super drunk, of which the lady said the F-word 41 times over the course of our meal-- Yes, I counted}

It was extra beautiful up at the lodge, with not many people around. We watched the deer eat out of the bird feeders, as usual. There was also a search and rescue team doing practice rescues out on the pond-- that was pretty cool to watch.

After I had my Artichoke Dip, and curbed my craving, we came back down the mountain, we were tired, so we took a nap.
When we woke up, both of us were tired of being at home, so we decided to go to the movie.
Mission Impossible 3. It was actually pretty good, I was surprised.
I also decided, during that movie, that Justin looks kindof like Tom Cruise.
Justin doesn't believe me, but-- he does share an interesting resemblance to the "1990's Sexiest Man Alive" Eh??

2012!!!

This year for New Years Eve, we went pretty Low Key. Justin worked, and I was busy all morning, so we were both pretty tired by the time the evening rolled around. I wasn't finished cleaning house when Justin got home from work, and my Dad and Brother in law were going shooting, so I sent him to the shooting range while I finished cleaning. When he got back, we got ready and went bowling. We've been once before on New Years Eve, and it's just a really fun date. I'm borderline terrible/awesome. I either get nothing or 3 strikes in a row. It's the weirdest thing.

So we bowled two games, and decided to move on.
I had recently decided to retire the toaster we got for our Reception (3 1/2 years ago-- weird) and buy a new one, so I talked him into going to Walmart with me to buy a new toaster. Yep- we're getting old. We walked around for a little while, bought our toaster and came home. I started getting sick to my stomach and Justin was tired so we put in Fool's Gold and relaxed a while. I ended up making an 11 o'clock 7-Up Run to Walmart to try and calm my stomach down (I hope I'm not getting sick!)

After I got home, Justin spent a few hours plaing Battlefield 3 on the X Box and I caught up on my blog Posts. What a way to bring in the New Year.
Welcome 2012.
Please be good to us!

Mack Fishing...

For the last i dont know how many years, Justin has been wanting to go Mack (Lake Trout) Fishing. He hadn't ever been before, and he just so happened to luck out this year. My Uncle Lon, My Dad and Justin all had a day off together (the stars must have aligned or something) so Lon brought the boat to the Gorge, met Dad and Justin and they spent the day on the lake.

I swear I see more of my Dad's teeth in pictures of him fishing with his boys than any other time. I even lucked out and didn't get any fish sent to my house, Dad decided to smoke the ones they brought home.
