President Uchtdorf

I have to thank my Mother in Law for sending this thought to me. She is always sending us awesome quotes and thoughts, and I really loved this one, so I had to share it. It's by President Uchtdorf- who always has amazing quotes!

God's Perfect Love

Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely.

Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly.

Though we may feel lost and without compass,

God's love encompasses us completely...

Regardless of our current state, there is hope for us.

No matter our distress, no matter our sorrow,

No matter our mistakes, our infinitely compassionate Heavenly

Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us.

A weekend away...

This coming weekend, Justin has a Softball tournament in Salt Lake. It has been longer than usual between our trips to the city, and I'm dying for some good food, shopping and to see my Miss Wendy Friend!

I cannot wait to get my hair done. Wendy is going to Cut and color it for me and I've been holding out for this trip to do it- it's been way too long, lol.

I always make Justin take me here for some of their Ice Cream. Their desserts are huge, but if I can get him to split one with me, it's totally worth it!

Yes. I insist. Every time we go to the city, I either have to eat at the Olive Garden or Johnny Carinos. I Love Italian food and not having a good Italian Restaurant in Vernal is probably the one thing that stands between me and obesity...

Of course we have to go to the Gateway....

Because I really need to go here!

And the list goes on and on:
Costco
Tai Pan
And I need to look for an Entertainment Center for the Basement...

Oh and of course, I'll get to watch the guys play ball- hehe.

Spring!!!

I have been absolutely terrible at keeping my blog updated, so tonight, when I went through my pictures, I decided it was time to share.

This is clear back from my Birthday but I had to share a pic. of my handsome man taking me on a date.

Miss Liddy has been helping me study lately (which I seem to be doing a lot of)

A few weekends ago, Dan, Wendy, Kyler and Koen came out to visit for the day and I got to hang out with this handsome boy for the first time! His momma and I got to run around and play while Dan, Justin and Kyler went and worked on some Cell towers out here for Dan's work.

I FINALLY bought a Sectional for the basement. I've been 'nit-picking' through some different options for quite a while now and this one kind of "fell into my lap" a week and a half ago, so I bought it.
(Thanks Kalen for helping us move furniture!!)

My sweetheart and I went out to dinner and shopping for some overdue "us" time a while back.
We keep ourselves so busy, it's nice to slow down sometimes!

New Glasses = The enemy.
These little fellers might just have pushed me over the edge when deciding whether to wait until after kids for PRK.
I've decided that I'm going to call for a consultation for this coming weekend when we go to the city for Justin's softball tournament. It was funny though because Justin and I have been discussing it for quite a while now and today he just blurts out "So what if they have to do 'touch-up's' so many times that they can't do touch up's anymore?" and I told him "Worst case scenario, I'd just end up back in glasses in my later years," and it was like I had just handed him a treat "Oh! So you mean you wouldn't be blind?"

Haha-- He cracks me up sometimes!

Speaking of "Treat's"-- this Salad is our new favorite. It's Grilled Chicken and grilled pineapple in a Caesar salad with Parmesan cheese and croutons. Yum.

I have also- as of last week- finally joined the 21st century and ditched my blackberry for this shiny new girl. (Yes, I consider my electronics to be gender specific)
My contract was ready for renewal and I was tired of my blackberry freezing so I finally gave in and got the new iPhone 4S and i love it!
I've just started to play with the "Siri" feature. She pretty much amazes me.

This last week we had a new Rue 21 open in town, so of course I had to go check it out. I found some stellar new necklaces...

...and these bad boys. I found some new shirts for Justin too, but no pics yet :(

{More Studying} -- I'm so ready for this class to be over.

Trish and I have been keeping up with our "Thursday Girl Lunches."
I can't believe how big Miss Ali is getting. She is sitting in her Bumbo (sp?) chair like a big girl and she'll jabber and laugh at us. It was only yesterday that Her mom, Mother-in-law, and I were standing in the doorway at the hospital waiting for this little girl to get here! Between the laughing and the crying (and everything that comes between) I love her and her mom to pieces!

Speaking of babies...Is there anything more adorable than baby shoes???
{Justin may have an issue when it comes time for kids of our own- cause I'm obsessed}
A girl I visiting teach had an adorable little girl this last week, so I had my sister crochet these bad boys for me and I loved them-- so I had to share!

P.S. Why didn't anyone tell me the church had an "lds store" online. Pfft...I made this discovery and ordered some art from them and I can't wait to get it framed and on the wall. This one is of the Sacred Grove and on the bottom it says "What happened here changed the world, let it change your life"
love.it.

This morning, Mom and I were going to go to Real Deals to buy her a clock for her new office (Yay Mom!) and Tiffany and the girls were in town, so they stopped by and we all drove up together.
Hailey always asks me to do her hair, and it's at that stage where it's just short enough- pony tails look like antennas and if you leave it down (she refuses to let you curl it) People tell Tiffany "What a cute little Boy"-- So we opted for the "antenna- treatment" today.

While at Real Deals...I found these beauties. Yes. They are: Tufted. Burlap Trunks. With Brass Buttons. Need I say more???

And...yet another clock (for me to be made fun of)...I think I'm in the 30's now- but the bathroom in the basement didn't have a clock yet. I was on the hunt and found this beauty. She'll match perfectly!

And...last but not least...I stopped drinking soda for about a week and a half. It didn't last- as usual. However! I am proud of myself for the fact that I don't even have one a day-- where before I would catch myself drinking 2-3 a day. Whew!!!
Talk about losing a few lbs. in a hurry- I'm drinking more water and have exercised every day for the past week.
Beach bod. Here I come.

I have been loving the beautiful weather outside this weekend. I'm hoping it sticks around! I want my grass to turn green and for it to get warm on the mountain so we can take the dogs up for my favorite kind of date! Just Justin, Me, the Dogs and a Camp Fire on the mountain. Once I make it up there, someone will have to force me down!

Random thoughts...

  • I grew up singing John Denver with my dad and uncles around a camp fire on the guitar.
  • I love the smell of burning weeds in the summer time. It reminds me of my childhood.
  • I believe that actions speak louder than words.
  • I know that there is no mistake on earth, or that we can make in this life, that is beyond the reach of our Savior.
  • I eat less when I drink soda- thus making it hard to quit drinking soda cause I gain weight.
  • I have had one good tan in my life. One.
  • My happiness depends on my ability to live up to invisible expectations I set for myself in every aspect of my life. Work. Home. School. Church. Pretty much everything.
  • I hate wearing Glasses. Hate. I will go to any Doctor or Dentist before I will go to the eye doctor. He always has bad news and I hate it.
  • I'm Stubborn and I love it.
  • I believe in pulling my own weight in everything I do.
  • I love to work.
  • I forgot how relaxing it is to sit down to the piano when I'm frustrated and just play my worries away.
  • Lunch is my least favorite meal of the day.
  • I believe it is better to be wanted than needed.

Beach Bod...

We are going to Hawaii in October with Justin's family. I'm SUPER excited. I want to get in shape and all 'sunned-up' so I can look good in all my new little bikini's while we're there.
{And- lets face it- so I can look good in pictures for when I come back, haha}
I stopped drinking Dr.Pepper/Soda of any kind last Saturday.
I quit on Thursday actually, had 1 Dr.Pepper on Friday, and started over again on Saturday-- If you want to get technical.

It's been 4 days, so lets hope the killer headaches are over.
I've been drinking more water and it makes me less munchy.
I'm hoping this will be easy.
{I already know I'm wrong though}

So here it goes....

Happy Birthday Mom!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY  to the greatest MOM a girl could ever ask for.
She truly is so inspiring to me.
She's organized, funny and so patient with all of us.

I ask her 5 million questions about-- well everything.
Cooking
Sewing
Flowers
Animals
Church
Anything.

You name it.

I couldn't be more grateful to have had a mother who raised me to work. She taught me everything I know how to do by working beside me, and she was much better at doing it with a smile on her face than I was. I learned to admire her at a young age, and always thought she coined the phrase "momma knows best."

I love her with my whole heart and appreciate her so much. She's an amazing example and I pray that one day, I will be as amazing of a mother as she is.

Dumb Groundhog...

I don't understand the exact science surrounding the Ground Hog Seeing his shadow and predicting 6 more weeks of winter...but I say they need to recalculate.
It's a beautiful day.

It's my party...

Yesterday wasn't my actual Birthday, but it sure felt like it! I went to Women's Conference yesterday morning, and it was fantastic. The spirit was so strong and encouraging-- just what I needed.
I had picked up Trish and Ali, and we sat by my mom so I was surrounded with people I love, which made it extra good.

After the conference, Trish and I after changing our minds 5 times went and got lunch at Wimpy's. I hadn't been there since High School and was pretty disappointed.

Afterwards, we went to Real Deals across the street, because I needed a big clock for my basement.
Well...I don't know how many years it has been now, but I have always loved Mora Clocks. I have only ever seen them in pictures, and searched for them on ebay/KSL/etc. over the years, but never one in real life.
I was completely obsessed- I know.
So...we walk into Real Deals and there stand TWO- not one - TWO mora clocks.
I almost died....

Then I sent Justin a picture with the Price tag and he said "If you love it, buy it"...

so WA-LA
This is my new baby, lol.

After Real Deals, my dad had to come to town to help me pick it up since Justin was still at work and our truck is still FULL of stuff from his camping trip.
I really do have the greatest dad in the world.
Then the laundry list started: Go to walmart, pick up ice cream, come home, change clothes, make taco soup for the party, take Trish and Ali home, gather up stuff for the party, (I may or may not have passed out on the bed for a siesta by this point)
Then we loaded up the Truck and headed to UBATC for my Dance Party.

I feel way too old to have a Birthday party, but it was fun to see everyone and eat and play.
(You know-- do what we're good at)

Trish got me the cutest scarf from Real Deals! Love it.

This is a Church Bench out of the old Vernal Tabernacle, which is now the Temple. My dad found it at work and the end had been torn off. He knew I would LOVE it, so he fixed it up and tricked me into thinking he was going to use it as a drivin bench on his hay wagon. I was so jealous.
So when I walked into the room for the party and saw it there, I walked over and I just told him "I hope that's mine."
He just grinned.

I am so spoiled.

While Justin was gone, I might have done a little birthday shopping of my own...I got all new towels, rugs, throw pillows and blankets and a few other "normal" things that I decided I would just buy and blame it on being my birthday.

I told Justin months ago that I wanted this book, and he ordered it and hid it from me til yesterday.
He really is so thoughtful.

More Real Deals finds (that store really is going to get me in some trouble)

Mom bought me the cutest Damask throw blanket and some new rugs for the basement bathroom.
I always swore I wouldn't be the "weird lady" that asked for "practical things" for her birthdays and Christmas.
Well here I am-- eating my words.

After Justin posted a very disturbing video of me 'Just Dancing' on Facebook- this is as close to Blackmail as I could find on him.
That's right...

I can't tell everyone how much I appreciate them coming and hanging out with us. Even though I'm getting old and don't want to celebrate my birthdays anymore (I never thought that day would come), We had a great time and I love spending it with my family.
