Things I'm loving lately...

  • I am just Loving this warm weather!
  • I love spending time outside with Justin and that we're making so much progress on our yard
  • I'm loving that the girls {dogs} are staying so healthy (knock on wood). It seemed to be one thing after another for a while and (like the vet said the other day) They are both doing SO GREAT!
  • I love the new Bikes Justin and I bought at walmart last night! We took the dogs on a run while we rode our bikes. It was super fun and it was exercise! YAY!
  • MY JOB ROCKS! I love love love it.
  • I love our new schedule. {which is another part of the job rocking} = we both work mornings and get to hang out in the afternoons. We even get up around the same time so we see eachother BEFORE work.
  • I'm loving cuddling Justin :D
  • I've gotten into project mode...I have my list stacked up again and I need to get to work on it!
  • I'm excited to be going to Salt Lake tomorrow. We are going for our yearly Mothers Day family pictures at temple square. It'll be so fun! I hope the weather will be nice to us.
  • I'm super excited for our two year Anniversary trip next weekend. We've rented a cabin up at Red Canyon Lodge and we're going to just go spend the weekend in the mountains. We're going to take our new bikes, and junk food and blankets and fire buildling supplies and enjoy the mountain!

We are just so blessed. I know I won't ever be able to feel enough gratitude for all I've been given, but I'll definately try, because I am so grateful!

Pictures....

I hate trying to upload Pictures to a blog I've already typed then try to place them. It screws everything up. So here are pictures to go with my last post. The tulips are doing GREAT.The new flower bed
The floor after primer and the two full lofts. Great storage space!

On The Go...

Since I posted last:

  • Justin came home from Arizona - Monday

  • I got my visiting teaching done & Justin sold some Pearls and Real Silver from Thailand at our house -Tuesday

  • My little Brother turned 19 {Holy Smokes} and we had a great birthday party for him at my mom's house- Wednesday

  • Sophie and Liddy had their check-up's at the vet and are SUPER HEALTHY. - Thursday

-Liddy: Has great muscle tone. Weighs in at 63 lbs. Has very very clear eyes for her age and breed {Samoyeds get cataracts very easily because their fur is so white}. Her coat is beautiful, long, shiny and healthy. Her teeth and feet are great AND {I was so excited to hear this} If we ever decide to breed her again {On purpose this time} She will NOT have to have a C-section. She should be able to have them naturally with not problems. Her risk is higher, but there is no GUARANTEE that she will have to have one...that might make things easier.

- Sophie. Got her 3rd set of booster shots. She weighs in at 30 lbs. She has gained 11 lbs. in the last month. She is incredibly healthy as well. Her feet, eyes, teeth and coat all look great.

  • Justin also sold Pearls and Silver again - Thursday

  • Softball started already this year. I am excited for it since Justin enjoys it so much. It's good exercise and time with his friends, it just seemed to creep up on me. So we kicked it off with the Icebreaker Tournament- Friday

  • While Justin was at work for the morning, I went to Split Mountain Farm in Jensen and had my mom help me pick out some perennials for my front flower bed and I also found a Pussy Willow tree. My grandma had one in her yard when I was little and I always loved it, so I was so excited when my mom found one for me.

  • After I bought all my yard supplies, we loaded up my dads tiller and I headed home. Dropped Eric off at a friends house after I made him help me unload Mr. Tiller.

  • Then I tilled the new area for my Flower Bed.

  • My dad drove his tractor from Jensen to my house so we can dig up and level out our yard, so I drove out to Jensen and followed him to my house with my hazards on. Gotta protect my daddy! It only took us 40 minutes. Mr. Tractor was bookin it!

  • After Dad got to town with the tractor, him and I hurried over to watch the last of Justin's softball game. They lost. We went to lunch at Wendy's with my dad, his dad, and Eric Pratt.

  • Then I planted my flower bed while Justin and Dad worked on his truck. It officially starts from inside the truck!

  • Monty decided it would be funny to drownd me in the sprinkler.

  • The rest of my family came over for dinner and we watched Sherlock Holmes. It was a weird show.....

WHAT A LONG SATURDAY...

  • Sunday I cleaned house and cooked until Justin got home, then we went to Jensen for dinner with his family.

  • Yesterday Justin, Monty and Eric all started working on installing a floor in the man cave/shed.

  • Today...I woke up with a sinus headache..went to work anyway. Only made it about 2 1/2 hours. Then I came home and tried to sleep through the guys banging around in the shop to finish up the floor and the 2 lofts.

Me giving up on sleeping = blogging

{Also} A HUGE Thanks to Monty and Eric for all the help they have given us over the last few days. There is no way we could have accomplished so much without them. It just isn't possible. We appreciate it so much! More than we can say. So again, Thank You!

Nichole's Bridal Shower

This past weekend was the bridal shower for Nichole Reynolds, that Trish and I put together. I planned it over the weekend that Justin was going to be in Arizona intentionally, and it was a good thing. Trish and I spend all night Thursday and Friday, then all morning Saturday preparing. It was so worth it though. Everything turned out great and we especially hope Nichole enjoyed it!
We played the "bubble gum" game. Trish and I asked taylor 20 questions and Nichole had to answer them the same way Taylor did, or she had to put another piece of gum in her mouth. She had about 5 pieces total, but I started to feel bad and started tearing them in 1/2 and 1/3.

Opening presents

*Cute*

Jess came and brought baby Jaycee with her. I didn't think Trish was going to give her back, she just loved that little girl!

We were so proud of all our food. it turned out great. We did Lil smokies wrapped in crossants, Bruschetta, Ham and cheese Spirals, fruit trays, Pasta salad, and of course CUPCAKES!

I was the "gum distributor"

Nichole even helped us clean up.

Trish was modeling the ham and Cheese spirals. They turned out so yummy!

I loved all the colorful fruit on the springy platters we got for the shower.

Life Lately...

I'm better a lists...haha so here we go:
  • On the 4th: We had a great Easter. I had the day off and stayed home and cooked and cleaned all day, while watching conference, then when Justin got off work, we had a big dinner with him, Eric Rasmussen, a friend of his from work and my whole family.
  • 6th: The gravel was delivered for our foundation for our shed, since we FINALLY got that stinking tree cut down and the stump dug out of the way. Justin got all the gravel spread out that same day.
  • 7th: My last day at the Marriott. Sad but happy day...
  • I started my new job working at Anadarko on the 8th. I absolutely love it. It is perfect for me and I couldn't be happier. I work 6-3, so the getting up earlier was a tiny adjustment...but it is not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I love being off so early!
  • Monty and Eric both got back into the States on the 8th. So good to have them home. Colt and Jess also came over for dinner and we got to see and visit with little Jaycee. She's such a cutie!
  • Our shed was delivered on the 9th. They assembled it for us and everything, but they planned on starting and finishing that morning, but had truck problems so they didn't get here til around 4. They worked until about 10:30, when the neighbors called the cops complaining that they were being too noisy.
  • 10th: The Shed people came back and finished working on the shed that morning. I died Trish's hair for her again. Love spending time with my girlie friends! Afterwards I went and roasted hot dogs over the fire with my family in Jensen. When Justin got off work he came out and we played with horses until about 6:30 when my mom and I walked up to my Uncle Troy's house for Donovan's birthday party. I can't believe how fast all my little cousins are growing up!!! haha He's definately not little anymore.
  • This weekend wasn't very eventful... I spent 9 hours deep cleaning the house on Sunday. It felt so good to get it cleaned.
  • Then the work week started again. I've been coding invoices and have been so excited about how easy it is and that I haven't made any screw ups and I so LOVE that the girl training me is so patient and will answer my every little stupid question. It's also so convenient that she is still working for anadarko, she's just in a different position now, so she's available to me all day to answer questions. {SORRY JENNY}
  • Yesterday afternoon Justin and his dad went to St. George to meet up with Eric and Tyler so they could go on a "boys trip" and they will be gone until Monday...This is the first time I've stayed in our new house alone. It's weird how quiet it gets sometimes, lol. But I'm making the most of it. I made myself Shepherds pie for dinner last night and ate it while I watched Because I Said So.
  • Tonight I'm going to go shopping for all the stuff I need for Nichole's Bridal shower, which Trish and I are throwing for her this Saturday. I'm going to make the door prizes/ center pieces tonight, and pre-cook the food tomorrow so Saturday can be a stress free day.
  • In the mean time...{Justin!! Come home soon babe, I miss ya! Please be safe.} I will be living on Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies...YUMM...Chocolate Muffins for breakfast and tomato based foods for dinner...(Justin isn't a big fan of chocolate or tomatoes so I have to take advantage when i can)

In other news....

These last few days have been so nice around our house for me. I've been able to work the morning shift for the last three days, so I get off at 3 and get to spend the afternoon at home with Justin. It's amazing the little things you take for granted, like being able to spend an afternoon together, until you don't have that anymore. However. I am so glad to report that I only have to work 2 more nights, hopefully for the rest of my life, lol.
When kids come, it will be another story, but for now. I am grateful that I'm down to 2 late nights for a while.
We have been working on getting our back yard ready for our shed, which will be delivered the 10th. We had to cut down a tree, dig out it's stump, level all the dirt out and we laid a 'border' for the gravel that's coming this week, out of some treated wood, so it can contain the gravel and we won't have it spread all over the yard.
It's been fun to spend the time outside, and enjoy the nice weather.
We finally got the internet up and working at our house and I'm SO GLAD! It's hard to keep up with everything without having it around. It's weird, but oh well. We have it now.
Some fun things we're up to:
  1. We made home made French Dip and Swiss Sandwiches for the first time for dinner the other day. Super good! Chipata bread, Roast Beef, Swiss cheese and Au Jus.
  2. We watched the movie "Did you hear about the Morgan's?" last night. Funny show! I liked it. {side note..Hugh Grant is getting old...hmmm}
  3. Sophie has learned how to sit, and is now working on "Shake" and is doing great! She's so smart.
  4. Trish and I are planning a bridal shower for Nichole Reynolds for the 17th, and I'm really excited! It's going to be so fun!
  5. I'm really excited for Conference this weekend. I am off work tomorrow so I plan on cooking all morning while I listen to conference, then my whole family is coming to my house for Easter Dinner. It's going to be so fun. I'm attempting my first Sprial cut ham, and Potato Salad. I'm not really scared because I love to cook and these two things should be easy, but there's a first time for everything.
  6. Justin, with my permission, has taken over the whole garage in an attempt to hurry up and get his Black 1970 Chevy finished and drivable for the summer so that there won't have to be a mess in the garage much longer.
  7. Justin and I are going to watch "The Fights" tonight. I don't know what they're really called. Ken Shamrock and his son Ryan Shamrock are in town and I guess Justin used to follow Ken's fighting when he was younger so he really wanted to go to these so I opted to go with him as a date. I don't really care that they're fights, I'm just excited to get out of the house with Justin and have a good time.
  8. I am hoping to start with Anadarko this coming Thursday, the 8th, which is also the day Monty and Eric both fly home. My last day at the Marriott is the 7th. This will be a good week!
  9. The only bad thing I've found so far about working mornings is that I miss my "toddler time" swimming with Hailey. They only do it on Thursday mornings so there isn't even an afternoon session I can take her to. I'll just have to take her to the open swim or something, that way she can go down the big slides. We'll figure it out I'm sure.
  10. Last but not least, our tulips are growing like crazy. They're so fun to watch. They get bigger every day. Justin and I have fun counting all the new little sprouts every day. I think we're up to the 20's so far, which is cool since we started with 3. I love Spring; being able to watch things 'wake up' and start to grow again. The sun comes out and the animals come out of hiding. Just lovin it.

Sophie's first bath...

On Sunday, Justin and I took the dogs down and had dinner and visited with Melanie. Sophie got playing with Melanie's dogs, Molly and Mattie and they got rolling in the grass. Melanie's grass was full of soot from her wood burning stove this winter, so this is what Sophie ended up looking like....a little Chimney sweep. So the next morning, she got her first bath. She did really great, just sat there for the most part, but she would whine and shiver at the same time. It was the funniest thing!!!

Look how dirty that water is!! Gross huh? haha...

Sophie was so funny, she would whine and shiver at the same time, so I tried to video it.
