The table

This is something I've been wanting to do ever since we bought this table and now I'm so excited to be almost finished. I've refinished it in black to match most of the rest of our furniture and other than the feet, it's pretty much done. I think it's going to be fantastic (if we ever get a house to put it in). It's been a great project to keep me busy while Justin is gone, but it didn't take as long as I thought it would.....so I guess now I'll have to do the chairs too....that's okay though. BeforeThe first of the sanding.

Almost finished painting.

...........who likes dirt

Liddy has been keeping herself entertained digging holes today. I'm used to her getting herself totally filthy but today I just couldn't stop laughing at how dirty she got.

Off to a good start....

I have been so ambitious today and I feel good about what I've gotten done. While the day is not over yet...I'm taking a break, lol. I still have work to do but I have to post my progress.

I've always loved coat stands and the other day Melanie gave me an old one that she had. I as so excited and decided I would refinish it and it turned out so cute! I just love it. I left the original metal tag on the stand part itself too. It adds character. I love it.

This is what I started with.

Being Sanded

Being Painted

New Hooks

Home Free!

Well this morning I dropped Justin and my dad off with Colt and Clint to drive to Salt Lake and they'll be on their way to Alaska! Lets see how much I can get done while they're gone! I've made a huge list...I hope I can at least make a dent in it :D

SO EXCITED!

This is the spa Nichole and I just booked our girls day out trip at and it's going to be great! I'm so excited to spend some girls time, get away and it will all be topped off with a stop at Nothing Bundt Cakes on our way home, where I'll have to get at least one of their Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cakes!!!
It will be great!

Everyday Life...

Not much has happened in the last two weeks. We've played softball a lot, but that's just the same story, different day. Monty went back to China on Sunday the 23rd. Other than that we've mostly been spending our time packing and getting Justin ready to go to Alaska. He is going to spend a full week up there with both his brothers, my dad, and his two friends, Colt and Clint. They're going to fish and hunt bears and he is so excited! I have to say I hate to see him go but it's good timing. My sister is due with her second little girl on September 11th, but the baby is breech and too big to turn so they've scheduled her for a C-Section on Wednesday the 2nd, and having Justin gone will free up time for me to help take care of their first little girl Hailey. I'm also looking forward to refinishing our dining table. I'm a little nervous because I'm painting it black and distressing it. If it turns out well it will be great, I just hope I take enough time and care to do it very well! I'm also going to work on refinishing this adorable old wood coat stand that Melanie gave to me. It will also be black and distressed so it will be great. What will be even better is if I can get all of that done while Justin is gone...because it won't get finished very quickly if it's not done before he gets back.
Eric flew in from Bangladesh yesterday and Melanie picked him up from the airport, just to help him re-pack everything and send him back on his plane to Alaska today. I'm so excited to see him, he's been gone for so long! He also was a saint and picked up a few Louie Vuitton's for me, which I'm DIEING to see!!!
Liddy has been happy and healthy for the last three weeks, which makes me so happy! It seemed like it was just one thing after another with her for the longest time and I'm so glad and hopeful that we've gotten her out of all of that! She has missed pepper a lot, but she seems to stay home better now that she doesn't have a partner in crime. She is learning to fetch her rope very well! I've been making a point of spending more than 2 minutes with her everyday. She loves playing tug of war with me which has grown into her learning to fetch.
We've enjoyed sitting out on the front porch watching Justin practice with his bow. It's the funniest thing though because I usually lay back in the same green lawn chair and instead of sitting at my feet she INSISTS on laying on top of me in the chair. It's funny and I love that she is such a sweet and cuddley dog! She's been a blast!

Parks, Dog Bites and Weddings!

Since the reunion so much has happened. We have been playing a lot of softball, and it's been great. The weekend of the 31st, Justin played in the UBIC Softball tournament with his mens league team. It was a good time. We drove to Roosevelt Thursday and Friday nights to watch games. Friday night Liddy even came with us and had a great time playing on the grass and snuggling. She is such a cuddley dog, I love how gentle she is. That Sunday Monty got home from China and we did a nice barbecue to welcome him home.
That Monday I took Hailey to the park and we played with just us for a few hours, it was great fun! That night I went to Brooklyns baby shower, which was so adorable. She got so much fun stuff, I'm so excited for her! Tuesday we just did the usual Softball games and that Thursday Tyler and Amy came up to visit.
During the weekend we built frames for our calendar and magnet boards while Tyler and Monty worked on the playhouse for Josie. Amy sewed new curtains that turned our so cute. It was great fun. But then Saturday night during dinner Pepper attacked Josie and things turned horrible. Josie ended up at the hospital with eleven stitches and pepper had to be put down. It was a very emotional weekend, we're just glad that Josie was not injured more seriously and that she still has such a positive attitude.
Monday I brought Hailey out to the house and her and Josie played together all day. They had such a great time sharing rides on the rocking horse and feeding eachother salad...
Tuesday we had Trisha's bridal shower at Carolyn's house and had a great time. She got a lot of fun cute stuff and we had a good time. Wednesday we had softball and did well. We all had a great time. Thursday poor Justin had to go to the dentist and have 3 cavities fixed at once. As usual though he was a trooper and didn't complain once. He's awesome!
Friday I spent the day building flowers and getting things ready for Trish and Bart's wedding Saturday. Her flowers turned out beautiful! I was so proud. I sound like a jerk, but I was really nervous!
Saturday was the wedding, and everything turned out beautifully! Everyone was so nice and the weather was perfect. The reception ended at 1 and we started cleaning up a little bit early, and it was a good thing because right at 1 it started to rain so so hard!I'm so glad I survived, lol. That night we went to Clint and Shayla's reception in Roosevelt which was also so beautiful. We were going try to make it to the demolition derby that night, but timing wouldn't allow it, then Melanie and Monty's truck broke down half way off the mountain on their way to Clint and Shayla's reception so we had to meet the tow truck in Altamont and pick them up and pull the camper home.
Yesterday I enjoyed a nice morning at church while Justin worked then came home and finally got some housework done, lol. That night we went to my Grandma Rosie's house to celebrate her birthday and had a great dinner!
Today I'm trying to get some house work done, lol (Until I sat down to the computer) and am so ready to just relax with Justin when he gets home from work! I doubt he'll do much relaxing though. He is leaving for his Alaska hunting and fishing trip in twelve days and he has so much to do, lol. Hopefully things will slow down a little this week and I can make him take me on a date or something, lol.
