July

Wait???? Did you hear that??? I think it was July....WHIZZING BY!
Where has all the time gone? I can't believe it's already August....
Like the 8th month of the year 2011---
Yeah, I'm struggling to grasp that right now....
Anyway-- here are a few pictures that I caught real quickly while July was Whizzing by in front of me.
Silly Sophie.
She gets to go to a new home on Sunday.
Yay !!

Nati was so tired!

Dudley Family Reunion over the 24th of July Weekend.
We floated the river and I didn't get many pictures at all, but it was great fun!

Love these babies

 Other than our grass struggling in a few spots, this is the best our yard has ever looked! Our garden is doing great (pictures to come) and we've gotten all the junk and weeks cleared out.
Thank good ness for Chelsea's shower to give me some motivation.
We actually finished the side yard on the East of our house which means:
{drum roll}
There is not 1 piece of unfinished ground on our property
SCORE!

Puppies enjoying the shade on the new sod

Welcome August.

Baby Shower Prep...

Well...tomorrow is the day for Chelsea's baby shower and I am SO excited to see how everything is going to turn out.
I've put a lot of time and thought into it and I hope it's as adorable as I'm imagining it will be!

 Wish us luck!

Gettin a buzz...

So on Wednesday, Justin, My dad and I were in the back yard setting up the tent for Chelsea's Baby shower Saturday. We kept getting buzzed by this little humming bird that has been loving the pink flowers in my back yard lately. After a few times getting buzzed, we started watching really closely to figure out what this little bird was doing!
Then Justin saw him:

A Baby stuck in the grass, too weak to fly.
So we picked him up and set him back in the pear tree where his mama was waiting.
Sadly when we checked on him later, he hadn't made it.

He sure was cute though!

Baby Shower Progress

I have been having the time of my life planning these baby showers for my best friends! Last night I finished the "paper bunch" that is going to be the Chandelier. We're going to hang it from the center of a big huge white tulle tent.
{P.S. don't mind that it's hanging from the loft in my garage- that's the best place to store baby shower decorations- or so I've heard }
All out? I know :D I love it.

Doings...

We love to keep busy during the summers, and this one has been no exception.

I am planning 2 Baby showers for the first 2 weekends in August and I have loved every piece of it. I'm totally that girl! Loving all the pink and ribbons and party favors and planning the food. This is going to be good!

This last Sunday I had to teach the lesson Sunday School. I was pretty nervous since I'd only ever taught primary... so it was a little more intimidating. I made it through pretty well and by the time I got home I was feeling good! I decided to pre wrap all the utensils for Chelsea's shower with the cute napkins and bakers twine.

The puppies are 6 weeks old now. We took them for their 6w appointment on Friday. The largest boy weighed 10 lbs. and the smallest weighed 7 lbs. They got their parvo shots so now they can play outside! YAY!

I let them out in the front lawn and they have been loving water since they have been weaned, so when they found the "big kid water bowl" They all had to try it out!

Here's a picture of the house...I've got some weeds to pull out front and I am going to change the decorations on the front porch to pink for the shower.

Liddy has been loving spending time sleeping on the floor in the laundry room. I think she's finally trying to catch up from raising all 9 of those puppies!
When we weighed her at the vet on Friday, we was 61 lbs. which was a relief to me because she's looking like skin and bones after she's shed so much of her hair.
She weighed 65 lbs. when all of this started, so 4lbs isn't bad!

All of this puppy mess and decorating mess has made my house...a mess, lol. I've been spread out all over the dining table for weeks now with all my various little projects.
It sure has made me glad it built a bigger table so I have room to make all these fun messes.

I went into Country Cottage the other day and found this plaque and I just had to have it. It went on the shelf in the dining room and I love to just sit and stare at it and think about what it means.

We have decided to sell Sophie. She is in need of a home that can give her more constant attention than we can. She's such a sweet dog, she just needs the time and energy that we can't give her, so for now. She's listed on KSL and thebasin.biz.
It's sad, but it's for the best!

Here's some of the craftyness we've been putting up in Aynzlee's room. We stenciled a cherry blossom branch onto her white dresser, which matches the larger branch we put on her wall.
It's completely adorable!

Here's a sneak peak @ the shower garb...

I am making this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Chandelier
 to hang from the center of the white tent that we're putting up in the back yard. I started assembling the Paper flower balls last night, as well as the geometric balls I bought. {I got some paper lanterns to throw in there too, but they're not in this picture}
I need to make a few more/smaller/different colored flower balls before I can start stringing it all together.

For party favors- we're doubling as thank you's so we made all these little Bath Salt Jars.
I bought all the supplies for these @ http://www.save-on-crafts.com/. Except for the stamp. You buy the tags plain and I stamped the cute little pink Thanks on them. {Thanks Hobby Lobby}

Here are the utensils and stripey straws all set up in their jars with their bakers twine bows. They're ready to go.
{Man I love those stripey straws-they're so cute!}

I also got Ms. Aynzlee this porcelain piggy bank that I'm going to stick her name on the side in pink vinyl as part of her gift table decorations.

I also found this awesome damask hat box on clearance @ Hobby Lobby- so of course I had to buy it. We're going to use it as a "cards" box.

This is going to be so adorable. I can't wait!

Coming Up:
  1. This weekend our puppies will be going to their new homes. It makes me sad and happy at the same time. They're my babies and I'm going to miss them!
  2. We are going camping for the first time this year, this coming weekend @ the Dudley Family Reunion. I can't wait! I LOVE Camping. Plus we get to float the River on Saturday. Super excited
  3. We have got 3/4 of our basement sheet rocked "Hallelujah"...and we've got all the plumbing and electrical done! So in the continuing events, we will be working on finishing the sheet rock, so we can find some poor sucker to come tape, mud and texture it for us! I can't wait!!!
  4. I have not had a soda in 5 days. That's not "coming up" but it will continue to "count up" because I'm over the extra 300 calories a day that make me feel like crap :D
  5. Next weekend is the Warren Family Reunion. We don't get to go and stay the whole time, but I'm looking forward to getting to go visit on the mtn. and enjoy some good company and camping food!!
Enjoy your Tuesday everyone.

July

This is my favorite time of year! It's warm outside, my plants are growing, I don't have to wear a winter coat to walk the dogs, etc. etc. It's just the good life!
It's been crazy to have so much water this year, so when it gets hot during the day, it all evaporates and we have like nightly rain storms-- I guess that's what we get for living in a "soup bowl" of a basin.
I haven't been super great at updating this thing lately, so I guess that just means I have more to report when I do get on here huh? lol
Well: Exciting news! I got a promotion last Friday! WAHOO! I am transitioning to an Operations Specialist/Scheduler- I'll get my own office and a raise and title change and the works! So I'm super excited for that!!!
Justin finally got his new work truck, the old one was so beat up and mileaged out, we could write a list 17 miles long of all the problems that thing had....It was time to go.
So we were more than happy to welcome home his brand new work truck a couple weeks ago!
We have been working in the basement really hard this last little while (which makes me super happy). We've got most of the Sheet Rock up and the morning of July 4th, Justin and his dad spent almost all day in the basement plumbing the bathroom.
We got the tub in and the plumbing ran so now we just have to sheet rock in there too and we'll be on to tape/mud/texture.
I can't say I'm excited for that part, and honestly we've been trying to find people to do it for us fairly cheaply, lol.
There is a guy that plays softball with us that does drywalling and painting so we're going to have him come bid it out for us and see if we can afford him, so we can get ready for paint and flooring.
That is like the MOST exciting part to me--because that means it's nearly finished.

The puppies are growing like crazy! They're 5 weeks old today and I absolutely Can not believe it!

We also got Justin's black truck finished and Licensed so he had to take it up to the Car Show at the Flaming Gorge Lodge  over the long weekend and he had a BLAST showing off his 4 year proje
ct that is finally finished!

For the evening of the 4th of July we had some pretty nasty rain and lightning and thunder, so I was worried they were going to cancel the fireworks, so I ran down to the park to see and there was the usual groups of people by the 100's sitting on the lawns- umbarellas dawned- waiting for the show. So I called Justin and he brought the traditional Little Caesars Pizza and blankets and we played at the park with my family for the evening.

We have some traditions in my family what might seem small or unusual, but the older I get and closer we get to having kids, the more excited I am to be able to share that family time and traditions with them! They get to experience the same long time traditions I've always enjoyed and that makes me happy!

These last 2 weeks have been the Mens league softball tournaments for the city league Justin plays on. They played in the B League all season and had a good enough record that they got bumped up to A League and beat out quite a few teams to take 3rd place. They did a great job!

Then Last night Justin and I went to practice with some friends for Co-Ed, which starts on Monday. I knew I hadn't done anything with a softball since last year, so I knew it was gonig to be bad, but-- Man! I'm getting old!

So anyways-- if that wasn't a jumbled mess of mumbling, I dont' know what is.
The moral of the story is- everything is good! We're having a great summer! Staying super busy, enjoying the house, eachother, the dogs, the outdoors, and our friends and family!!!!
I love summer!!!
