It's October already!! I got out the decorations and we're ready to roll!!!
It's been a whole week-- or so-- and we've been busy. Justin has been out on late night jobs a lot lately so of course I've been buildling stuff to keep myself busy. I heard though, that one of the lessons taught at the womens conference, last Saturday, (that I missed) was that there were two keys to happiness 1-Creat something every day and 2-Service, Service, Service.
I feel like I've got the first one down pretty well, the second, I'm working on. I've been loving my job. It's so much more fun and laid back and creative. I get to build things...well, help build things and watch and learn how the pro's make all that cute stuff, lol. It's been great.
Paula has been teaching me, slowly, how to make different arrangements. She's always right next to me coaching me along/ fixing my mess-ups, so it's been fun. We started small and basic, I learned about leather and built a few double and triple rose bouquets, and today I did a small Three-Gerber-daisy and Yellow-Wax topiary, which turned out looking like a weird bush, but they said that's what it was supposed to look like so I took their word for it.
I just can't get over how much fun I'm having and how much I'm learning just by watching--and getting paid for it. So great.
Monty got home last week and we've had fun visiting and teasing him. The other day he did one of the Ionizing foot Bath's and he was in the living room and I was sitting at the bar eating dinner when He asked Ruth how much longer he had to sit there. She told him he had about thirteen Minutes left and I laughed and told him "Yeah, but we aren't going to turn it off til the brown runs out of your eyes so we know you're not full of Shi* anymore," We all laughed for about five minutes, It was great.
Sunday after church Melanie and Monty hooked up the camper and headed up to Moose Head in colorado to go camping for the night. Justin, Dad and I all hopped in the car and followed them up there, we wanted to drive around and try to find some Elk and listen to them bugle. I didn't want to go very badly, but I did and when we got there....I've never seen so many elk!!! We saw probably 200 within ten miles of eachother, they were bugling all the time, it was like they were singing songs to us. So beautiful!!!
Other than that, We've just been running around, working and I've been building stuff. I have to share my lastest creations, because it's what makes me happy...when Justin's not around :D
When I got home today, I got this hair brained Idea that I would try to build a real bouquet out of flowers from the yard by myself....I was actually pretty pleased with how it turned out...Here it is...

I found these cute rustic Ceiling tins for sale on an online craft store and got this idea. So I ordered four and I had Jill make me Four Vinyl Letters "L" "O" "V" "E" and when the tins got here, I stuck one letter per tin, then I drilled Holes in the top of the tins. I'm going to buy a board tomorrow, paint it, distress it and nail four small nails in it far enough apart that I can hang each tin on one of the nails...I think it'll be cute, we'll see, but this is all I've gotten done so far...
Justin and I have been making Rice Bags like crazy. We're thinking about renting a booth at the Santas Workshop and selling some of the "Junk" I've built because it's taking up more and more room in the storage shed. The other day, after he watched me do so many, he made some all by himself. He did great! He had the great idea to buy Camo fabric and make some "Manly Ones"...haha
My dad has a plum tree in his front yard that was totally LOADED with Plums and Melanie was making jelly the other day, so i picked about four branches worth/ about 3 gallons and she helped me make Plum Jelly out of them. I shared some with my dad since they were his plums, but now we've got a few pints of Jelly to use up!! They turned the prettiest pink color too! I was so surprised.
