Basement Inspiration

I am pleased to announce that the basement is finally making some noticable progress....and quickly. After 2 years of:
  • Framing
  • Plumbing
  • Running electrical
  • Insulating
  • and Sheetrocking...
We got 3/4 of the Sheet Rock done and decided to give in and hire someone to finish the drywall {Cause that's what we should have done in the first place, but we like to save money-- crazy, I know?}

So this Monday, Paco and his little friends showed up and hung the remaining 26 sheets of sheet rock...in 3 hours.
Yes.
I said 3 hours.
They rock.
They started taping and mudding Tuesday and textured yesterday.
They'll come back today to sand and finish everything up and we should be painting by late tonight or tomorrow.
I'm so super excited.
We have already bought our:
  • Tile/ Grout/ Sealant/Backer Board
  • Laminate/ Underlayment
  • 60 1"x4" Boards for my Board and Batten (that's going to be totally awesome)
  • Bead board for the bathroom
  • Doors- including closet doors (P.S. those are expensive!)
  • Toilet
  • Tub is already installed
  • Paint/ Primer
  • Base boards
  • And...we've picked our carpet and they're coming to measure for it today, so hopefully it can be installed next week.
I'm so incredibly relieved, grateful and excited that it's finally going to be finished.
I can move my office to the basement and have it all organized and have room to spread out.
I get to move all my "stuff" into my craft room in the basement and have a place to do my vinyl, wreaths, quilts, scrapbooking- etc.
We get to move Justin's (garage full of) hunting totes into his gun room and get them all organized.
Yay for parking in the garage before I have too many more mornings with frost on my windshield. (Yes it froze in Vernal last night. Suck)
I also get to move all my decorations into my craft room and organize them so that I don't have to leave Easter decorations up until Fall cause I'm too lazy to dig through all my totes of decorations.
We can finally move all our exercise equipment into the "office" upstairs and have it be an exercise room-- which I am very excited to finally use!
I also get to reclaim my wood working bench/shelves in the garage for my projects without being snagged by Justin's fishing poles and Bow Case..etc.

Lets just say that Finishing the Basement= Happy Chelsie!!!

This is our laminate for the office area.

This is the color of the walls- Secret Passage by Olympic

This is the tile for the bathroom and shower surround

The carpet we've picked is similar to the one on the bottom left, but it's much more gray than that one.

This is the vanity we had picked out, but when we went to pick it up last night, the price had jumped $70...So we're shopping around a little more.

This is the sectional we have our eyes on. Two of the chairs recline, and two fold out into a bed, so we don't have to have a guest room anymore.

Board and Batten inspiration for the Living Area.

I am painting the biggest wall in my craft room with stripes almost identical to this wall. I'm so excited. It's going to be awesome!!!

Aynzlee Ann Johnson

Chelsea had her baby, two weeks early,  on September 13. After 9 hours of labor, Ms. Aynzlee Ann Johnson was born.
She is so incredibly healthy and they were pleased to find out that what they were previously told was a cleft lip and pallet, was only a cleft lip. She was 6 lbs. 11 oz.
 Congrats you two! She's Beautiful.

Mikey's Wedding

Justin's Best Friend Mikey got married on 9-10-11 in Salina. Justin's brother Eric happened to be in the country for the wedding and knew the family well, so we made a day trip down to the wedding so Justin could be in the line. We drove down, enjoyed the beautiful wedding and reception, we stayed a little through the dancing and drove home. We didn't get home until 2 am, but it was worth it. Shanell was the most Beautiful bride and I know it made Justin so happy to be a part of the wedding and support those two.

Birthday Princesses...

My neices, Hailey and Natalie's birthday's are only a week apart. Natalie was born on Sep. 2nd and Hailey was born Sep. 9th.
Thes year Hailey turned 4 and Natalie turned 2.
It was so fun to celebrate with them and buy them presents. I love taking them to the park, Mcdonalds, the rec. center, girls trips, etc. Whatever I can do to spend time with these girls-- I do it. They are so incredibly smart and well behaved. These girls aren't the snobby little brats you see running around terrorizing Walmart these days- they really are sweet hearts!

I can't believe how fast they are growing and how smart they are! They're both the most beautiful little girls in this world and I love them so much!

Justin turned 25...

Justin turned 25 on September 8th this year. For his Birthday, I got him Flowers and a new Scope for his hunting rifle. I also won a radio contest that day for a $589 gift certificate to a local gunsmith, so I threw that in the pile too :D.
On "the day" we went golfing with his parents and brother, and afterwards we met up with my parents and some friends for dinner at Club XS.

The following Saturday, we had a family birthday party at the house for a few more friends, my family and his grandparents. We had Cafe Rio Pork Tacos, Fresh Home made salsa, and Justin's favorite-- Strawberry cupcakes with Powdered Sugar Icing.

He was then informed,by a good friend, that he is now technically a middle aged man.
Becaus he is half of 50-- I think he is still coping.

All joking aside, it was a great day to celebrate my Sweet Heart and try to do something special for him for a change. He is so wonderful to me and does so much that I hope he doesn't ever forget how amazing he is!

Septemberfest

Septemberfest is like the Fair/Car Show in Rangely, CO, which is where Justin grew up. Ever since he bought his 1970 Chevy, he's been wanting to take it over to that show so bad-- since it's the show he grew up going to. This year we made it home from St.George/Vegas, just in time. We got home on a Sunday night and Monday morning, which was labor day, we loaded the truck and the family up and headed to Rangely.
It was a really good time actually! The weather was great, and I got to meet a lot of people that I've heard Justin tell stories about (good and bad-hehe). We got to spend some time with my Dad's Parents- Dee and Jeannie. It was really fun to see them enjoying all the cars- and even remembering some from 'their generation'.
Of course we only got one picture the whole time, but it was definately worth the trip!

Vegas with the Pratts

{I'm playing Catch Up!}
The first weekend in September, we took a trip with Justin's family to St. George and Vegas for a few days. We got to see Melanie and Monty's new little house in St. George and it was cute and fun. We went to Vegas for one night for Monty's Birthday and he took us all to the Terry Fator show. It was a really good time! Very funny! We stayed up Super late walking through the casinos and eating pretzyls! We had a really great time.
Thanks Melanie and Monty!
